Bali and Indonesia To Re-Open International Travel In July

Bali and Indonesia plan to re-open to international travel in July. After an extended closure of borders to visitors and tourists due to the pandemic, the island paradise is ready to receive travelers once again. Indonesia is proactively working to reopen borders for July, with a focus on tourist-heavy spots like Bali.

While speaking this week at Arabian Tourism Market (ATM) in Dubai, Indonesia’s Deputy Minister for Tourism Nia Niscaya mentioned high rates of vaccination for locals in many key tourism areas, such as Bali, Batam, and Bintan, and that these areas would absolutely be ready to welcome back visitors. Indonesian officials have spent the last few months to invite tourism and transport ministers from a variety of key partners to observe the cleanliness measures and protocols in place on the islands, to help encourage countries to label Indonesia as “safe” for a visit.

When Will Tourists Be Able to Visit Bali and Indonesia?

Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan says the islands are nearly ready to welcome back visitors, and final details on protocols and visitor requirements are expected soon. No quarantine is expected for visitors to Bali, but vaccination status needs remains unclear. Americans and all outside visitors are expected to be included when Bali opens up tourism. A specific date in July has not been announced, but it’s rumored to be early in the month.
