At the tail-end of 2021, this 328-key eco-resort will offer unimpeded views of the turquoise waters of the Andaman and access to an unspoiled stretch of sandy coastline. The resort goes the extra mile when it comes to being green, from a zero-waste system that composts leftover food into organic fertilizer for the on-site garden to its emphasis on locally sourced seafood. While building the resort, the architects were able to preserve over 600 trees, and save another 100 by carefully replanting them into the lush landscape of gardens and natural ponds.

Avani Chaweng Samui Resort’s bold and fresh design is inspired by the glitz and glamour of travel in 1950’s America, with a contemporary take on mid-century modern aesthetic. To bring that carefree experience back to the customers, SOHO Hospitality, a renowned Thailand-based studio known for their standout restaurant concepts, infused a predominantly contemporary space with retro influences. The 50’s vibe is evoked via high-contrast geometric patterns and curves, mirrored furniture, abundant use of metallic and opulent fabrics.
