  1. Prior to your arrival, you’ll need to register with the State of Hawaii and create an online account. As part of the registration process, you’ll log personal details about yourself and anyone else accompanying you.
  2. All travelers ages five and up will be required to take a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a certified Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) lab in order to bypass the State of Hawai‘i’s 14-day mandatory quarantine. Hawaii will only accept test results from this list of travel partners and should be taken no more than 72 hours before your flight time.
  3. Once you receive your negative pre-travel test, you are required to upload the result to your Safe Travels Hawaii account. Upon your completion of the form, a QR code will be emailed to you for each leg of your trip.
Upon arrival in Hawaii, you will be asked to present your QR code to airport personnel either on paper or on your mobile phone, along with a photo ID.
  4. If your test results are not available when you arrive, you will need to quarantine until the test results are received.
  5. If you receive a negative test result while you are in quarantine in Hawaii, you will need to remain in quarantine until your negative test results are uploaded into your Safe Travels Hawaii account and reported to the Hawaii State Department of Health. The department will send you a confirmation of receipt and your name will be removed from the quarantine list.
  6. If you receive a positive test result while you are in quarantine in Hawaii, you will be required to remain in quarantine for 14 days. Health services guidance will be provided to you by the Department of Health. If you are traveling with others, they will also be required to quarantine in Hawaii for 14 days.
