Make a Date with Donatello at the Palazzo Strozzi

Major Exhibition of Donatello’s works in Florence

From 19 March 2022 the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation and the Bargello Museums present Donatello, the Renaissance, a historical and unrepeatable exhibition that aims to reconstruct the extraordinary path of one of the most important and influential masters of Italian art of all time, in comparison with masterpieces by artists such as Brunelleschi, Masaccio, Andrea Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini, Raphael and Michelangelo.

Curated by Francesco Caglioti and conceived as a single exhibition on two locations, Palazzo Strozzi and the Bargello National Museum, the project was born as a celebration of Donatello in dialogue with museums, collections and institutions in Florence and throughout the Italian territory as well as through fundamental international collaborations, aiming to broaden the reflection on this master in time and space, in materials, techniques and genres, and finally to embrace the dimensions of the Donatellian universe.
