Marriott International has unveiled the second Scottish property under its AC Hotels brand.
The 245-room AC Hotel Glasgow forms part of the £100 million Love Loan development off the city’s George Square, which when complete will also feature bars, restaurants, and Scotland’s first Soho House private members club.
The complex will also house the first property under Cheval Collection’s recently launched MY Locanda aparthotel brand.
AC Hotel Glasgow combines the restored 120-year-old Grade A listed former city Parish Halls with a brand new building designed by Hoskins Architects.
The hotel features 22 heritage suites with period features, as well as the brand’s signature AC Lounge with seating area and a bar, the adjacent all day dining Hazel restaurant, a fitness centre, yoga facilities and a self-service business centre.
The property joins the recently opened AC Hotel by Marriott Inverness as the brand’s second hotel in Scotland.
Marriott has been steadily growing the AC Hotels brand since it formed a joint venture with the Spanish group back in 2010, reaching over 225 properties in more than 32 countries and territories.
Recent openings include AC Hotel by Marriott Seoul Gangnam and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles.
Glasgow has seen several high profile hotel openings and announcements in recent months, with Virgin Hotels unveiling a property on the banks for the River Clyde, and Hilton set to open the first UK hotel under its Motto brand in the city.
