What to see in Florence during Easter
The Scoppio del Carro: it is the tradition par excellence of the city. This event is a marvelous spectacle that has been renewed for over 350 years. On Easter Sunday, a large tower called Brindellone, 2-3 storeys high and packed with fireworks, is hauled through the streets of the city by a team of oxen festooned with garlands. It is a real procession, with the cart escorted by flag-wavers and musicians completed by representatives of the institutions and those of the clergy. The procession reaches Piazza del Duomo, stopping in front of the Cathedral. Around 11 a.m., the archbishop launches a dove-shaped rocket from the altar of the Cathedral. This runs along a tightrope to the cart, which is struck, setting off a fireworks display.

Visit to the museums: discovering the great wealth of artistic works kept in the Florentine palaces is one of the musts of the Easter period. Among the most visited museums are:
The Easter markets: tradition, colors and surprises among the colorful stalls that you can find in different corners of the city. Here we can find souvenirs, handicrafts, cosmetics, toys and much more.
Picnic: one of the most beloved spring rituals by Italians is that of lunch or a snack in nature. In Florence it is possible to have a picnic at the Ancocella Park, Poggio Valicaia Park, Area Pettini, the Horticultural Garden, Neto Park, the Park of the Stibbert Museum, the Fonte Santa Woods, Renai Park.
Visit to the gardens: Florence is full of gardens, and spring is the perfect time to admire the first colorful blooms. Among the most beautiful locations are the Bardini Garden, the Rose Garden, the Tulip Park of Scandicci, the Boboli Gardens, the Medici Villa La Petraia, the Iris Garden, the Medici Villa of Castello, and the Garden of Villa Gamberaia.
