If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo this September, there’s another reason to add the Japanese capital to your itinerary: ULTRA Japan 2026 is returning to Tokyo for another huge weekend of electronic dance music.
The festival takes place on September 19 and 20, 2026, bringing two days of international DJs, electronic music, spectacular stage production and thousands of festival-goers to Odaiba Park in Tokyo.
For fans of EDM, house and techno, Ultra Japan is more than just a music festival. It is an opportunity to combine a weekend of world-class electronic music with a trip to one of Asia’s most exciting cities.
If you’re thinking about attending Ultra Japan 2026, here’s what you need to know before planning your Tokyo trip.

When Is Ultra Japan 2026?
Ultra Japan 2026 will take place on September 19 and 20, 2026.
The two-day festival will be held at Odaiba Park, a waterfront area of Tokyo known for its open spaces and views across Tokyo Bay.
The timing makes Ultra Japan particularly interesting for travelers. September is a good opportunity to combine the festival with several additional days exploring Tokyo, rather than flying in solely for the event.
How to Get to Ultra Japan
Tokyo’s extensive public transportation network makes it relatively straightforward to reach the Odaiba area.
When planning your journey, check the official festival information and Tokyo transportation services closer to the event, as the best route can depend on your starting point and any special arrangements made for the festival.
It’s also worth planning your return journey in advance. Large events can create significant crowds around transportation hubs when thousands of people leave at approximately the same time.

How to Get to Ultra Japan from the JR Yamanote Line
If you’re staying in areas such as Shibuya, Shinjuku or Ueno, take the JR Yamanote Line to Shimbashi Station. From Shimbashi, transfer to the Yurikamome Line and take the train toward Toyosu. Get off at Odaiba-kaihinkoen Station, which is about a three-minute walk from Odaiba Marine Park. Daiba Station is another nearby option.

Ultra Japan 2026 Lineup
One of the biggest attractions of Ultra Japan is its international lineup.
The 2026 edition features major electronic music names including Afrojack b2b R3HAB, Peggy Gou, Alesso, Sara Landry, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and Timmy Trumpet, alongside a wider lineup of international and Japanese artists.
The festival also includes RESISTANCE Tokyo, Ultra’s techno-focused concept, giving fans a different musical experience from the main festival stages. The official festival website provides the current lineup and stage information.

Where Is Ultra Japan?
Ultra Japan takes place at Odaiba Park in Tokyo.
Odaiba is a large entertainment and leisure district on the waterfront, separated from central Tokyo by Tokyo Bay. It is known for attractions, shopping, restaurants and waterfront views.
This location is one of the advantages of attending Ultra Japan compared with festivals held far outside a major city. You can spend the morning exploring Tokyo before heading to the festival in the afternoon.
After the festival, you can return to your Tokyo hotel rather than needing to stay at a remote festival campsite.
Where to Stay
For people coming to ULTRA Japan 2026, we recommend staying in or around Odaiba/Ariake rather than central Tokyo if the main purpose of the trip is the festival. ULTRA Japan takes place at TOKYO ODAIBA ULTRA PARK on September 19–20, 2026.
1. GRAND NIKKO TOKYO DAIBA — Best for convenience
This would be my top recommendation for festival-goers who don’t mind paying more. It’s in Odaiba itself and is listed only about 0.28 km from ULTRA JAPAN 2026.
The big advantage is obvious: after spending the day dancing, you don’t have to make a long journey back into central Tokyo.
Best for: couples, groups, and visitors wanting the easiest possible festival experience.
2. Hilton Tokyo Odaiba — Best luxury alternative
Also right in Odaiba, the Hilton offers waterfront accommodation with views toward Tokyo Bay, Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Tower.
It’s another excellent choice if you’re making Ultra Japan part of a special Tokyo holiday.
Best for: luxury, waterfront views and convenience.
3. Sotetsu Grand Fresa Tokyo-Bay Ariake — Best value near the venue
This is probably the one I’d highlight most strongly for budget-conscious festival visitors.
It’s in Ariake, close to Odaiba, and current hotel listings put it around 1.68 km from the festival.
You get the benefit of staying near the festival without paying Odaiba’s premium prices.
Best for: festival-goers who want to spend their money on tickets, food and nightlife rather than a luxury hotel.
4. Tokyo Ariake BAY HOTEL — Best Budget Choice for Backpackers
For festival-goers traveling on a tighter budget, Tokyo Ariake BAY HOTEL is a practical choice. This capsule-style hotel in Shinonome offers a more affordable alternative to the larger hotels around Odaiba, making it particularly suitable for solo travelers and backpackers attending Ultra Japan.
The hotel is well placed for exploring the waterfront area and getting to the festival, while Tokyo’s public transportation makes it possible to reach central Tokyo for sightseeing, restaurants and nightlife.
Best for: Backpackers, solo travelers and budget-conscious Ultra Japan fans.
Whether you’re a dedicated EDM fan or simply looking for an exciting reason to visit Japan, Ultra Japan 2026 offers the chance to combine two unforgettable experiences — a world-class electronic music festival and a trip to Tokyo.
Start planning your Ultra Japan adventure now and get ready for an unforgettable weekend in Japan.
