Culinary legends converge at Australia’s grandest epicurean festival held in Western Australia
As autumn arrives in the northern hemisphere, spring makes its way in the south, luring everyone out for Australia’s favourite holiday happening: beach and BBQ. But at Margaret River, one of Perth’s most renown wine regions, people crowd the beach not just for a feast of their favourite meats, but to welcome local and international celebrity gourmands making their way in the Gourmet Escape 2019. The dates November 8-17 are no longer regular grilling days, but a grand festival of epicurean discoveries led by the world’s best: Marco Pierre White, David Chang, and Danny Bowien, among other names that instantly still a craving for good food.

These culinary wizards are slated to sweep the curtain to showcase Perth’s gracious bounty of food and drinks. Joined with New York’s Gage Roads Brewing Co, Bowien takes the spotlight along with Malcolm Chow for a delicious dip into Chinese Gastronomy. The waterside will overflow with a bounty of good food and fresh produce as chefs from around the world gather at the well-loved Westpac Gourmet Beach Barbecue. Mark Best indulges his crowd with a decadent cruise onboard the Ocean Dream, combining the flavours of beloved local wines with the breath-taking waterscape. Monsterella, Perth’s trending pizzeria, will be delighting the crowd on Saturday with their cheese-and-meat adorned pizzas and lamb skewers.
Gourmet Village – Mouth-watering spread of sliders
Casual crowd events, fine dining experiences, and a lively dance floor keeps the festival upbeat. Look forward to exclusive dinners held at Perth’s most lux places, including the Gourmet Village at the Leeuwin Estate Winery. The diverse culinary panel opens itself to a festive conversation; be prepared to take notes, all while digging on a ravishing sling of pasta, or a mouth-watering spread of sliders. Seedlip presents Dining by Twilight at Margaret River’s Secret Garden—where George Cooper highlights the flavours of organic fare with Dirt Candy’s Amanda Cohen.
